Multi Tasking?

This is something that I heard about on the news last week and today I would like to touch on the subject. First I want to say that I have a problem in this area but since the first of January I have really been trying to work on it. Well...with that said did any of you see the story about the mom that was driving down the road, talking on the phone and breastfeeding her baby? Yea, that's what I said breastfeeding her baby! Now I believe in making every moment worth while and I love to multi-task but I think this is just a little overkill not to mention illegal. This is not to say that I haven't done some pretty stupid things. Usually during these crazy multi-tasking days I am always trying to fit a prayer or a word in with God. How sad is that? I can't believe I wrote it but its true.

The American way. Work, work, work until you get it done even if it is not all done very well at least it all got done.

"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" - Psalm 46:10

It says be still...not be busy, work, work and work, or do everything at once and know that I am God. The American way tells us that if we have a spare moment we are lazy but our God wants for us to be still and spend time with Him. I have been thinking about ways to free up more time in my day to be with Him. This is my list...you can make your own or use some of my ideas.
  • Not spend so much time on my computer. This one is HARD! So many blogs to read so little time. See I told you this one was going to be hard.

  • Put down my cell phone. Sometimes the convenience of having a phone is an inconvenience and now I get e-mails on it so I am really connected.

  • Turn off the TV. I am not going to watch as much news. FOX News Addict! Addiction a whole new blog!

  • Put the word NO in my vocabulary. This one is the hardest! I love to do for others.

  • ??? I am sure there are many more and over the next little bit I am going to add them.
Join me in this "Be Still" challenge to myself. I think we will be amazed at what we accomplish with Him by our sides!

Love your challenge, Debbie, and am going to be praying about some areas in my life to work on. The computer is a BIG one!!!

So happy to hear Koby is doing well. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! We will continue to keep him on our prayer list, and the rest of his family too. God is so good and will continue to be.
