How do we say Thank You???
Post It/Wrap It Baby!!!
One of the rules this past weekend was that we were not to be out rolling yards. Of course Staci and I had already decided to do some rolling. We thought that it was best not to since it had been mentioned from the stage in the sanctuary. On Saturday night Tom our youth pastor put a few more rules out there for us...no rolling, no wrapping, no egging, no oreo cookie's on anything basically we were to go home and do nothing. So...Staci and I decided after our small group that night that we should saran wrap Toms car on Sunday after Sunday School and before Church service. I have always said that the yards you roll and cars you wrap belong to people that you really like because you wouldn't go to that much trouble for someone you didn't like. It's almost an honor...right??? We also figured that we couldn't get in trouble after the fact. It wasn't actually DOXA weekend anymore and what a wonderful way to say "thank you!"
Thanks Bro. Tom for the wonderful weekend!

DOXA Weekend!!!
It is finally here our DOXA weekend. At first I was not sure how this would go...look at the name Doxa. I didn't know what it meant...or even how to say it. How could it be any fun...when you have to look up the word to know what it is? Well...Tom our Youth Minister has done it!!! He pulled it off. He has gotten our church and two more fired up for an amazing weekend that will be spent praising God!!!!
We are meeting Friday night to kick off the weekend. Brent Gambrell will be our preacher and the band "24" will be there for us to praise Jesus in song. Friday night we will be staying in houses that have been provided by some wonderful folks. Saturday morning we will be getting up and eating breakfast and going back to the central location and having a morning service. After lunch on Saturday we are going to Laser Quest for an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Saturday evening after we eat dinner at our host homes we will be meeting back for another service with Brent and some great music. Saturday night we will go back to the host homes to discuss the weekend with our small groups. Sunday morning we will be going to Providence for our regular morning service. The music on Sunday will be led by Dallas, Daniel, Andrew and Nick. By Sunday morning we should be floating into the sanctuary. Can't wait!!!!!
I am so excited about this weekend and what it can mean for the lives of our youth. Be in prayer that if there is anyone that does not know the Lord as his/her personal savior that they will come to know Him this weekend. Be in prayer for all of the leaders to have the right words to answer the questions that teenagers ask. Pray for there to be many come and many hear the word of God and everything that is done this weekend be done for HIS glory!!!!
The Greek word doxa in the Greek translations of the Old Testament and of the New Testament is usually rendered "glory" in the English versions, a translation of the Latin gloria. The Hebrew word kabod is usually rendered "honour" when applied to man, but rendered "glory" when applied to our Heavenly Father.

Something to Ponder...
Today I was thinking about the new year and what my resolution for this year would be...
God is so Good!
- loose weight (this is always on my list)
- get more organized
- keep my car clean (yea right w/kids)
- stop drinking cokes (this thought makes me nauseous)
- clean out the garage (Scary)
- Start being on time. (for Kenny's sake I drive him insane)
- Keep all the ironing done up
After preparing a list for me to choose from I realized that there was nothing on it that I really whole heartedly wanted to do. (The important word here was wanted. Ha Ha!) And I have learned that in the past if I am not crazy about the idea it will last maybe a week or two if I am lucky.
As I sat and thought it hit me I am going to find a Bible verse to give me inspiration this year. No more resolutions...a verse or group of verses to inspire me to do everything better this coming year. So I started looking. I am going to be looking over the next few days and will tell later but I wanted to challenge anyone out there reading this to do the same.

Our First...
PBF Family Christmas
Wow! You talk about an amazing night for God! Tonight was our first PBF Family Christmas celebration. I do believe that it was the coldest night so far this year. The wind was blowing so hard it hurt to walk from the car to the home where we were meeting. You've heard the saying, "The wind was blowing so hard it could cut you into." Well imagine twice that bad. You would of thought that the weather would of kept folks away. Not us we were all anxious to meet and have a wonderful family fellowship. What an amazing blessed night this was for all of us. When we got home I hugged Kenny and told him that, "God is so Good and He is going take care of us." The feeling I got tonight was like your daddy giving you a big hug and that special word of comfort. You know the one where you feel all calm inside.
God is our "Father" and tonight I felt that big hug.
Wow! What an amazing night for God!!!

Just Fun and Fellowship
Christmas Vacation Youth Night
This past Friday we met at the Hutchinson's house and had our first Youth Christmas party. We had a great turnout. A lot of good food, good fun, good fellowship and good friends to spend the evening with. We watched Christmas Vacation (the clean version) and Hutch had some really neat games for us to play. We had a very blessed evening.
